Audio recording through guitar amplifier is not working.

In version 31.0.1.13 when I hook up my guitar amplifier for an audio recording there is a loud machine gun firing sound. This happened yesterday when I installed this version. I reverted back to the most recent version 30 which I have in my download folder and it worked fine. I just re-installed version 31 again tonight thinking I might have done something wrong but it once again has the machine gun firing with no sound from my guitar. I am reverting back to version 30. I am on Windows 10.

@Chris-Engelke Could it be a feedback loop? Have you tried to disable the Monitoring checkbox in the recording settings?

Sorry SP I reverted back to my older version without an issue. I skipped even bothering to download the update again. Yesterday I bought Music Maker 2023 Premium. I installed but it probably includes the 31.0.1.13 update. I installed it twice but both times I got the loud machine gun. Version 31.0.2.15. I did click the Loop On/off button so it is not highlighted in blue. I just clicked "REC" on the next track and sure enough the machine guns roared. Is this not the check box to which you were referring?

I just found the record setting and the Monitoring check box. I unchecked it, same result.

@Chris-Engelke How is your amplifier connected to your computer and what audio driver is selected in Music Makers program settings?

I didn't realize you responded so quickly yesterday. Thank you. I have a laptop with a 1/4 inch plug I believe it is called. I plug in a headphone/microphone splitter and run the line to the headphone output jack at the back of my Peavey Transformer 112 amplifier. It has worked all they back to just before I updated to the 31.0.1.13 version.
Even when the split headphone/microphone jack isn't plugged in I still get the machine gun sound as soon as I click on the red record button on any of the tracks. I tried, after replying last night, to not even turning the amplifier on. Same result.
I wonder if anyone else has this problem with Post 31.0.1.13 versions. I think it is in the software. Perhaps I don't have the right version of Sound Forge? I think I have Sound Forge 10. Yes I just checked. I would think Magix supplies upgrades to their required Sound Forge version?

Hi SP, It's been a while. I decided to give Premium Edition 2023 another try. There was an echo and the Record Audio track only recorded this echoing sound. After much fumbling I narrowed it down to the ASIO driver.
If you find other people with this same issue updating from MMPE 2022 to MMPE 2023 tell them to go into the "Program Settings" (gear icon at the top left of the recording page), go to the Audio/MIDI tab, in the ASIO driver dropdown box select the "Magix Low Latency 2016" then click on OK.
