Audio Recording Settings

I just started with Magix Music maker so bear with me... I have a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 as my interface. I used it to record a bass track and all was well. I tried again the next day and while I heard the sound through both sides of my headphones, the resulting track was only on the left channel. OK I know that's because it was plugged into the left channel of the Scarlett and I turned the gain down on the right... How do I set it up in the first place as a mono input panned to the middle?? In post, I was able to make the track into two mono tracks which solved the problem but seems a waste of a track AND the first time I did this, everything was fine - except my playing which sucked as always so I needed to record it again. Sure seems like I should have a window or something to set up before recording anything.

Hi

. . . . How do I set it up in the first place as a mono input panned to the middle?? In post, I was able to make the track into two mono tracks which solved the problem but seems a waste of a track AND the first time I did this . . . .

The easy way is to use the Stereo processor as shown below for a single object, the same effect is available for a track as well.

I would advise you to read the PDF manual available under Help.

Hi,

Click on the parameter button (gear) to the right of the red record button to open the parameters screen. Click on the button for mono.
