Audio Pro Unlimited license help

bobkelso wrote on 9/14/2018, 9:11 AM

Hi,

Let's say i'm planning to buy licenses "Audio Pro Unlimited" for 3 soundpools (50$ each) and use them in every music i make.

1- i do not own the copyright of the final product, Magix is still the rightfull owner.

But i'm able to commercialy use my final product for unlimited purposes, right ?

2- Can i use, these 3 soundpools for an unlimited numbers of final products during an unlimited time ?

(Ex: Today i create an album, in 2 months i create something else for a movie, another thing for youtube in a year etc etc etc)

To be clear no need to buy an "Audio Pro Unlimited" license for every final product.

Thanks a lot and sorry if it has been already asked but even after reading some post and Catooh information it felt unclear.

@bobkelso

Hi

Did you read the full terms and conditions of the Unlimited licence? ProducerPlanet is the new Magix source for Soundpools

In general the rule has been:

  1. If you use Soundpools only, then you never own the copyright of any Soundpool used in your creation so cannot claim copyright for the creation - you must also state who has copyright if required.

  2. If you create content solely using the Instruments by playing/recording them with a MIDI keyboard/controller, the computer keyboard or using the MIDI Editor and it is an original work then you can claim copyright.

  3. If you have a combination of 1 and 2 then it gets a little more complicated in that you must state that some content is copyright Magix, or the creator, if specified in the Terms and conditions for that Soundpool or audio clip used and claim copyright for your original creation parts.

For definitive advice I would suggest you contact Magix at infoservice@magix.net.

Thanks you for the fast reply!

I didn't know about ProducerPlanet, better website than the old one.

And i'm gonna contact them probably. But one last thing, as you say i don't own the copyright if i make a music with only soundpools , but i do own the right to use my music commercially as intended ?

Thanks again

Yes, provided it is within the terms and conditions of usage - in particular section 3 Explicit limitations of the PDF I linked to.
