Audio Only Coming from Internal Speaker

I migrated my installation from my old computer to my new one (Windows 10, up to date), and Magix Music Maker will only play out of my internal PC speakers. I have a USB headphone adapter as well as external speakers (default playback device in Windows), but I've tried just about every setting in the Audio/MIDI tab, but whenever I select 'Speakers', it plays out of the internal speaker and not the external ones. Any ideas?

Hi,

If you select "Speakers" the audio will be played back through the internal speakers. There must be a slightly different name for your external speakers.

Are you using a laptop or desktop computer?

How are your external speakers connected to the computer?

What are the options for playback when you open the popdown for Audio Playback, and which drivers did you try. Also, do you have a special driver for your headphones? Have you installed ASIO4All?

Yes. The only option I have that seems to work at all is WASAPI drivers. Under that, I have three options, Speakers, Headphones, and Speakers again. The two Speakers options both play from the internal speaker, and not the external ones. Everything else seems to play normally, although it didn't initially. When I first installed Magix, it did something to my sound settings in Windows, so that system sounds played from the external speakers, but everything else (YouTube, in particular), played from the internal speaker. After some messing around and reboots, that got fixed, but Magix will still only play from the internal speaker now matter what I seem to do.

Ok, I might have fixed the issue, but Magix won't save the setting, as weird as it sounds. I went into the ASIO driver and selected the Magix Low Latency 2016 v2.13 option. I noticed that USB Audio Device items were enabled, but the device itself wasn't, so I unchecked that, and went into High Definition Audio Device and unchecked 'HD Audio Speaker, and left HD Audio Headphone/Speaker' checked. When I exit the settings menus, this actually works! But, when I close the program and reopen it, all of what I have done is reverted back to how I found it.
