In MEP I'd have said check that you don't have 'Video/Audio on one track' enabled in Program Settings >But maybe there's a similar setting in MM?

Your question referrs to Magix Music Maker - is this correct? If so then AFAIK MMM does not support the import of XVid files.

If you mean Movie Edit Pro - then do you have the DivX or XVid codecs installed? Also

If not install them - make sure you get the genuine codecs.

Note: AVI is a container file format and you need the codecs for the contents  formats
