Are any of the new versions of ACID actually stable?

Been using these programs since like 2002. I upgraded to Music Studio 11, finally got it running and I'm getting random crashes. And crashes on rendering with certain VSTs. Version 9 crashed pretty often for me as well, but not this much.

I don't care about the extra features but I'll pay for ACID Pro if it actually works properly. Just want something stable and fast.

Running Windows 10.

AP v8.0.7. Is the only version that seems stable enough for me to trust it will open previous projects without issues ... After that they added VST3 compatibility and scanned the plug-ins folder with a new method the problems and instability seemed to begin after that...

I gave Magix a year to get their **** together and it seemed to be heading in the right direction... But the move to version 9 has been a nightmare for many users...

Personally I won't ever recommended a Magix product to anyone and don't intend to upgrade any of my Magix software in future... They simply do not deserve any financial rewards for this reprehensible behaviour and poor customer service.

I downloaded the trial for ACID Pro 9 and it feels way better so far.

I've been using AP9 since it launched, and have had minimal issues........the initial loading of VSTs is still a bit of an issue, but a rescan upon loading, loads any of the missing VSTs .........

I use the Acid Pro 8 version 0.8 29 is 99% stable, rarely hangs, sometimes there is a problem with the head in the main window and clip proporties, You can not see its shift mark, despite the fact that you can hear the sound and the volume level indicators are not working, there is no spectrum. This phenomenon occurs on my laptop Dell Inspiron 5770 i5 8250 U, 8 gb ram, 512 gb ssd especially when the computer goes into sleep mode.System OS Windows 10 (1903). I have installed the trial Acid Pro 9 and there are problems, I opened the project with AP 8 and it has been paused, especially asd files. I had to correct everything. On my YouTube channel there is video with these problems with AP 9. The channel is DMX.

I am experiencing terrible problems with Acid Pro 9.
Program will not open and keeps crashing at the VST3 folder inspection stage.
Acid Pro 8 is working 100% OK - Acid Pro 9 is just terrible.

Interesting. So when is Magix sending out the apologies and refunds?

Kix2K wrote on 7/15/2019, 12:24 AM

I've been using ACID Pro 9 trial for like a week now and its been completely solid, so I guess that answers my question. I think its just the Music Studio version which sucks.

I do have an issue with certain beatmapped tracks behaving weirdly (theres a thread about it here), but no crashes.

Not so. Acid 9.x has massive issues with plug-ins that have cost me way more than Acid ever did. Right now, it's hopeless garbage. Every time they add something something else falls to bits. In all candour, I'd avoid it right now.

I've completely moved to Reaper. The support/knowledge network is huge, it feels like ACID, but it works.

I too am using music studio 11 and experiencing constant crashing. I can be right in the middle of working on something and the entire program just disappears. I am running NO vst's on these projects as I am simply re-cutting samples and doing simple things at the moment. I really could use an answer on this subject if anyone has found one.
