Hi there,

Unfortunately, this particular soundpool does indeed seem not to work properly with the Song Maker feature. It might be the combination of the fact that the Song Maker is a pretty old program module, and the fact that the specs for this soundpool are straying a bit from the path of the vast majority of soundpools. I've already reported it to development for their attention. Let me know if you bump into any other pools that are showing the same problem, and I'll add them to the list.

Thanks for your understanding!

Thank you.

There still has not been an update to this sound pool. Have you heard anything from the developers?

I would like to request that Song Maker be improved and expanded. It helps music noobs like myself, and allows us to experiment. In addition to the "pretty old" Song Maker that everyone gets by default, maybe there could be an "Improved Song Maker" module with lots of new features (and a pull-down menu for selecting soundpools!) on the store.

Hi there,

I don't think this is something that can be fixed on the end of the soundpool. This soundpool is just different from other ones by design, with its limitation to two keys (albeit I don't even know whether that's the root cause of the problem). I think this can only be addressed on the end of the Song Maker. As such, it probably doesn't currently enjoy the highest priority in development. There are many other tasks to get through first for the new big release of Music Maker this summer. Sorry.

It would have been courteous to alert buyers that the soundpool does not work properly with the Song Editor (a default part of the software) before purchase. "Sorry, it's going to stay broken, tough luck." is really not an encouraging thing to hear and does not raise confidence in the software.

Hi there,

Sorry if you feel that's a bit harsh. I was just trying to give you a somewhat realistic perspective as to the priority this kind of development task is going to receive, compared to many more important development tasks (both new features as well as bug fixes). Please also keep in mind the practical side of this. The soundpool content is coming out of a completely different department, and is also meant to be suitable for users of other DAWs etc. Compatibility with a relatively marginal legacy feature in Music Maker is simply not the primary yardstick by which they measure the quality of any given soundpool. It's not ideal, but it's an exception - not the rule. Also, this issue only really become known very recently.

I realise the Song Maker seems to be more important to you than to the average Music Maker user, and I appreciate your frustration about this. Feel free to contact our support team via our support website, and I'll see what we can do for you:

Thanks for your explanation.

What other DAWs are soundpools compatible with? I wasn't aware of that.

Current MAGIX soundpools typically come in standard audio file formats - either OGG Vorbis or WAV (PCM). So, the loops would be compatible with any DAW that supports these formats, which I assume would be the vast majority on the market.
