Apply effect only to certain area

Hi!

Is it possible in Magix Movie Studio 2023 Platinum to apply a certain effect only to a certain area of the frame?

Like: creating four dots on the image and clicking on an effect and then the effect would be applied to the area between those four dots.

It can be a static area and just a rectangular shape, I don't need any fancy motion capturing or something like that.

@Christian-Schwaderer Hi, yes,

  1. Add an effect to your video clip, click on the 3 dots top right of the effects control window - Load Effects mask, this will add a B/W mask from a pre made selection or you can create one of your own in a photo editing program , Once you've added the mask you can click on it on the timeline, it will go a slightly darker yellow then your video clip, then use Size/Position/Rotation to resize it. There's an arrow at the start of the mask clip that will invert the mask.
  2. Or you can duplicate your video clip on the timeline & add a BW mask then use Chroma Key, @browj2 will point you in the direction of some tutorials eg this 👍

Hi,

As mentioned by @Former user, here is a tutorial showing one way to apply a mask to limit an effect to a specific area:

There is a lot more there than just the effect.

You may want to watch the second tutorial to see another way to apply a mask.
