You are still facing problem sorry to know that.

Please do exactly as I am telling you to avoid any problem and confusion. Also you must hide the folder when you are done.

In Windows 7 folder will be hidden you can not see that therefore do as follows:

How to view hidden folders:

Click on the two keys together. A key with Windows logo + E  to open windows explorer         http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_key  In the Windows explorer, click on ORGANIZE then click on FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS. A window will be opened click on VIEW tab scroll down under Files and Folders and locate the option SHOW HIDDEN FILE, FOLDERS, AND DRIVES. select it then click OK. (Files and Folders will be slightly gray or faded in color than other file.).

Locate C:\Users folder. In that folder you will find a folder named All Users with shortcut arrow . Open this folder and inside locate Magix folder. Inside Magix folder/Magix Music Maker (your version here) open it and locate a folder called User Data or UserData. Open it then click on "Crash" folder. Inside crash folder there should be a single crash file or more. If there is one with file extension MMM click on it and open. If you find everything fine save it as a project with new name. If there are more crash file with MMM extension in that case try to remember the date and time when you got crash problem then click on the particular crash file. Again if every thing is fine save as a project by giving new name.

Note: There are other ways to view hidden files I suggested which is easy. Also do not forget to HIDE Files and Folder when you are done.

In case of problem you may contact by message or here.

Hi

. . . . another folder that is my name . . . .

That is the folder you want - All Users does not exist in Windows 7.

The browse to AppData \ Roaming \ MAGIX \ Music Maker your version \ Crash

Note I have put extra spaces around the \ to make them clear.

When I try to open it says that it doesnt know what program to open it

In situations like this when you want to open a file right click Icon click on Properties then click on Change. If the Icon of the Program as in this case Music Maker is not showing then click on Reference and locate Magix Icon or Program. When you find out the Icon similar on the Desktop click on it and click OK. (My system is in Japanese therefore there may slight difference in English)

to open the bak file but it then wants to load the whole software program again

That is great if you found BAK file click on it and let it run the Music Maker software then it will load your project. Just wait and see.

Please also refer this article on an other website may be that will give you some help.

Hi

Doooh - big apology - having reread your initial post I realised it is not the crash logs you are looking for - these are for Magix use only.  MMM will prompt you to send it after a crash and restart, also ignore the BAK files you found - they are not what you are looking for.

The backup files which are automatically created every 10 mins (unless you changed the program settings) have a  .MM_ file extension.

To locate the backup files saved before the crash start MMM and select File, Backup, Load backup project.

This should open in the directory where it saved the last backup, if not use Windows explorer to search for  *.MM_
