Just speccing a computer for an upgrade of my existing system. Going to get Samplitude ProX7 Suite. Just wondering if it makes any difference whether I go for an AMD processor or an Intel.
@mark_gordon7 You could ask the professional users at the official Samplitude forum at https://community.samplitude.com about their setups. I never had problems with Intel processors. It looks like AMD Ryzen will give you usually the same performance for less money but there are some bugs in Ryzen processors that will cause trouble for certain applications like virtual machines or compatibility with very old software. If you don't want to use these things, I don't think there will be much difference between Intel and AMD. I think the audio interface is more important.
Thanks SP. I'll go there and ask. As it happens, I want to continue using my Focusrite Saffire Pro24 audio interface, which came with its own software (Saffire MixControl) and is about eight years old. I honestly don't remember now whether I can use the interface without the MixControl software. I set it up in 2014 and left it.
