Alpha Effect Text Wont Export!

jmorrell wrote on 1/8/2013, 6:36 PM

Ok. I am very frustrated. I've been working on a film that's about an hour long. I'm working in Magix Movie Edit Pro 14.  I just finished adding 82 quotes to the film, using the alpha effect. This is the first time I have tried the alpha effect. I have never had any problems before using text. However, everytime I try to export the video with the alpha effected text, the finished video does not display text.

Let me show you exactly what I am looking at. Below is a picture of the alpha effected text before I export it:

Below is the video after it has been exported. Notice that the text is no longer there, unless you look very closely. It is there, but very faded. You really only see the background video. Most times when I export the file, the finished file doesn't show any text at all, not even highly faded like this example;

Why wouldn't the text be in the exported file like it was in the preview? Am I doing something wrong or is my program malfunctioning??

Hi,

What is it that you have on track 3?  I see something there that I don't see in the video.  Perhaps you need to switch track 3 with track 2 which seems to be your title track.  Just a thought.

George, track one has my background video. Track two has my text with the alpha effect. Track three has the image for the alpha effect to texturize the text.

Ok. I figured out the problem. The text, as well as the image for the texture, had a fade in effect before and a fade out after. When the fade in was on both the image and the text, there would be no text at all on the finalized exported file. However, if there was a fade in and a fade out only for the image the text got its texture from, and not from the actual text itself, then there was text in the finalized exported file.

This is what I mean:

When it was like this, there would be no text at all on the exported file:

When it was like this, the problem was fixed:

I think Carl and I answered your similar query on this a month ago, but had no feedback.

Terry, yes you and Carl have answered how to use the alpha effect, but nobody was able to answer why the alpha effected text, once created, would sometimes work and sometimes not work. My problem wasn't on how to use the alpha effect, but why it wouldn't consistently show up once it was created.

The post I made at 2013-01-09 04:59 AM, with pictures, is how I solved the problem. When the alpha effected text was set up like the first image, the text would not export at all. But when I changed it to the second image, the problem was solved.
