I am trying to create a Keyboard shortcut that would allow me to designate a single key to perform a simple volume adjustment. For example, I would like to designate the "3" key to access the "Volume" menu, and then apply +3db of gain to my currently selected region. In other words, I want to create "one-touch" keyboard shortcuts. Thank you.
With Dell laptops that have Realtec soundcards, the F2, F3, F4 keys are Mute, Increase, Decrease. On other PCs I use NirSoft's Volumouse, which can use the mouse wheel + an activator key or other assignable options . NirSoft NirCmd is another command line keyboard shortcut utility that can up/down volume. Lots of great utilities in general at Nirsoft and free.
The only way I am aware of to control output volume directly though SF is in the 'Hardware meter' window ('View' menu), but a keyboard shortcut would only open the meter window.
