Ads make the software feel like spamware

Hello,

I'm a relatively new Magix user, and I would like to send some initial feedback. After installing the software, I noticed spammy pop-ups when logging in Windows, that show advertisements for upgrades and whatnot.

That really makes me uneasy as a user, and it feels I infected my PC with spamware. I never gave permission to launch anything on startup, I can't find an app in the notifications, I don't see a Magix app in the device manager and so I can't find a setting to turn it off. This is of course in no shape or form appropriate behaviour for a commercial software to behave.

In general, as a user I am NOT interested to what the offer says when it's presented in such an inappropriate manner.
My first reaction is to say "screw Music Maker" and uninstall EVERYTHING with Magix in the name.

My personal advice is that installing spammy ads on the system of the user, OUTSIDE of the application is not doing the brand any good, and it's not going to do your user-base any good.

Some time later I gave the software another shot. I get the pop-up again. First thing I'm going to do after I'm done using it is uninstall it again.

I'm sending this feedback here as it's the only appropriate place I could find, because I'd like to see Music Maker treated better. It seems like a nice software, and it's a shame to sabotage it with spamware.

It is annoying but it is quite easy to turn them off in the options.

@Orestis

Welcome to the Magix forums.

As @Graham-Hawker writes, if you search the forums you will find a number of posts saying the same thing, with solutions to stop these pop-ups appearing.

However, you also need to be aware that these are user to user forums, not a contact for Magix staff so your feedback is highly unlikely to be seen by anyone at the manufacturer, unfortunately.

Thanks both of you for the replies.
My purpose really was to provide useful feedback to Magix, and this is the most appropriate route that I found, so it is unfortunate if it doesn't work. I will follow your advice to disable the ads, thanks again for the tip.
