Additional vital or vita instruments

I have made a melody in the midi editor which I want to play with a grand piano, however this is not currently available in my Magix 15 package.  Is it possible to download a grand piano instrument sample?
There was a separate post by a lady asking a similar question but the response was to play around with the vita instrument editor to change the sound of the electric pianos.  However, none of the electric pianos sound anything like a grand piano and for a novice it is a lot of messing about.
If someone can tell me how (if possible) to get the grand piano sound I'd be extremely grateful...thanks!

You can try it with the free

The sound library comes in various formats. For some if not all you can get free VST/DX plugins.

If you are referring to my response to a previous posting, it sounds like you did not read and understand what was written.  But hey...at least it's nice someone (you) tried to do a little research before asking for once.

What SHE called an "electric piano" was in fact the default "acoustic" piano.  I don't know what is available in MM-15 Basic, but there are several versions of electric piano's and several versions of acoustic piano's in MM-15 Premium.

The quality of the sound of these virtual instruments depends a great deal on the quality of your sound card and its synth engine.

No matter what you do, it's NEVER going to sound like a REAL grand piano!

Over the years, creating the illusion of a real grand piano has been difficult even for synth's and samplers costing thousands of dollars.  Expecting to do so on a cheap computer sound card and cheap software is just not realistic.

On my old computer with a SoundBlaster Audigy, the acoustic piano's sound pretty darn good.

If you don't like the tone of the acoustic grand piano's in MM-15, and you don't read Spanish or know which format will work, you can find several choices of free VST grand piano's here...

The two I tried, the EVM Grand Piano and the Steinway Piano, are very nice.

The EVM was easy to install.  While installing the Steinway Grand, you need to choose the folder you want to install it in, or it will be sent to your Programs folder by default.

Thanks so much guys for your help.  I'll give your ideas a go and let you now how it works out (=

Sure.  MMM-15 stores files in two different locations on your hard drive.  This is what I did.

Place a copy of the folder of the VST instrument which contains the .dll file into the "Synth" folder at this location...

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MAGIX\MusicMaker 15\Synth

Then, open MM-15, and it should show up as a VST instrument in the menu and under the Synth tab at the bottom of the screen.

Good luck!

You're very welcome.  I'm glad we could help someone successfully.  It's a pleasure to help someone who is intelligent, responds to questions, and doesn't give up so easily.

I'm sure you've noticed there are many other free VST instruments available on the web.  And, if the sound of the piano's are not exactly what you wanted, they do have controls that allow you to shape the sound to your liking.

Have fun!
