Adding tracks

nickconstant wrote on 5/2/2020, 11:15 AM

Hi

I have just uploaded Music Maker Premium (2016) onto Windows 7 . I dont seem to be able to add new tracks - I can only work with the 8 loaded . The help section shows press 'add track' button which I cannot see anywhere on the page . It also says go to 'Edit' drop down menu , but again there is nothing there . If I press Ctrl + I nothing happens . Is this a software fault ? - or am I missing something

Thanks

Nick

Hi

. . . . I can only work with the 8 loaded . . . .

The program is still running in free mode.

Either:

  1. after installation on Windows 7, it was not registered and activated with the serial number you received

    or

  2. the Extra content for the Premium version has not been downloaded and installed - this includes more tracks.

Hi,

MMM2016 - old.

Did you download and install the additional content under Help?

Once done, to add more tracks, go to Project settings (shortcut A) General Options tab, and add them there.

Hi John

Thanks for the correct location of where the download is - I have edited my comment - for some reason my brain was stuck on MMM 2017 - 2020 and I did not install 2016 after the rebuild..

OK thanks - I see I have to purchase extra tracks even though it's the 'Premium' edition with features worth £599 . More of a 'Basic Edition' then.....

No that's wrong. You add all the features you want for free (depending on what the edition allows) from the store. You can add six features of your choice if you have the premium edition. Along with six instruments and other stuff. It's all listed here.

Hi

As @Graham-Hawker and I have both said the extra tracks are included in the downloads as a standard feature of the Premium ( and Plus ) versions.

However to use the extra tracks you have to set the number of tracks you want to use in the project settings, as shown in the image below - if you do not do this you will still only see 8 tracks after installing the extra content.

I think the problem is that it wasn't activating from the basic version for some reason - I have just done a third activation code re-entry and and third download update and it looks like it might work this time
