To download and reinstall any/all of your registered Magix products, go to your account, log in, go to My products and find the listings for those you wish to reinstall. Each listing should include a link to download the software, along with the necessary serial keys.
Whilst on that page in your account you should also click on "show more details", where you will find a list of all current activations for your software, Make sure you deactivate any you no longer need, in order to ensure that the reinstallations does not fail because you have attempted to exceed the maximum number of concurrent activations allowed.
Thank you for your help I have managed to download my movie edit pro plus on to my new faster computer but it seems that i have to buy it now although I bough it before a couple of years back.
the download appears to work well although \i am only a very amateur occasional user
How do I get back to Magix to acknowledge my earlier purchase.
I've hidden your duplicate post so that other users do not see it, and wonder why it is there!
There should be no reason at all for you to have to buy the software again. When you enter the serial key listed on the My products page of your account, and your email address (in order to register/activate the new installation) what happens? If you receive an error message please show us a screenshot of it or if that is not possible, the FULL wording of it.
Did you ensure you deactivated in your account any listed activation(s) you no longer need? There is a limit to the number of concurrent activations you can have, 2 for most products but only 1 for any "365" version.
As for not being happy how to work this Forum, what, exactly is "going wrong" for you? If you want to ensure that the person to whom you are replying knows you have posted, type @ (without creating a following space) and you will immediately see a list of the user names of everyone who has contributed to this thread. Simply select the name of the user you wish to notify and you will see their name turn blue (as at the top of this reply from me to you) and they will receive an email notification of your reply.
As such there are only users of the programs here and no Magix staff support, so anyone answering will only be a user, even the moderators.
Having said that, the replies here are normally very good and often it is much quicker to use this forum than contacting the Magix technical support by a margin of days.
Jeff is correct. The activation code is with the product in your Magix account and should work providing you have deactivated previous instillations. You must copy and paste all of the activation code including the P3- at the beginning.
@emmrecs Hello again Thanks for getting me going again. I have done a short new video after downloading from my video camera. All ok except the sound channel doesn't get picked up from the MTS file.
Previously when I had the original program from magix the sound channel got picked up.
I added just as a test one of magix produced films now in MP4 format and sure enough the sound channel was there on that bit only.
so it looks as if the sound decoder for MTS files is not working. Any ideas
Thanks for the update. Great to hear you are "back up and running" whatever may be your age!

I assume you are using an older version of Movie Edit Pro? And a video camera that records audio in AC-3 or surround sound format?
Almost certainly the answer to the problem of the missing audio is included in the reply given in this thread. As you will read, this is not a"Magix" problem but rather one of the licensing of specific codecs. There is also there a method to enable you to work around the problem. (Obviously, the user who asked that question is using an older version of Windows, but the reason, and the solution, is still the same.)
I have Movie Edit Pro Plus 2023-10-18-MVP which is the current version available to me from the Magix download service.
My original download update a few years back had no problem with the sound but I had to get another download from my account as my old computer went duff.
I gather that a patch has been removed from the version available to me. An audio converter Handbrake has been sugested but I have not tried it yet.
Bit of a fag running all my short video clips through a converter and does it degrade the video 1080 HD signal?
Any other ideas how I can get my Magix program to work the audio?
2023-10-18.MVP is the default name automatically created by MEP for a project you began earlier today, October 18th, 2023, if you did not specify a name before you began work. It is NOT anything to do with the version of the program.
Your following post, stating you have MEP Plus 2017, serves to confirm what you have been advised in earlier replies from both @johnebaker and me; due to licensing changes imposed by Dolby Labs the facility to edit and export files with certain specific audio codecs is no longer supported.
Unfortunately your only option is to convert the audio before importing it to your installation of MEP Plus.
