active movie has different resolution as new file added

lucseawalker wrote on 9/25/2011, 2:01 AM

When I insert some footage in a project, I get the following msg:

"The active movie has a resolution of 29.97 fps

The file "x" has a resolution of 30.00 fps

If you wish to adjust teh movie and video monitor settings to the imported file, click on 'adjust' "

The regular NTSC format is 29.97 fps isn't it? My camcorders are set to that speed too, I think. I don't understand why I sometimes get differences? Anyway I can adjust the file I wish to add to 29.97 fps?

Tnx for the help!

Hi

NTSC standard is 29.97 but IIRC there are 30fps and 60 fps versions as well.

What is the make and model of the camera?

Does the the camera record interleave or progressive video?

John

Hi John,

I use 3 different cameras: Canon GL-1 / Panasonic PV-DV 953D / Panasonic NV-GS500.

Best is to set all camera and editing software on 29.97 fps correct?
