I disabled Norton and tried again. Failure.
went to the described path. Temp\mgxtc3fmpb7 is not a folder on my computer

Yeah I'm not going into registry to download a program.
also this is a brand new pc... this is pretty ridiculous

Where did you purchase Acid Pro and what version is it?
Did you update windows?
If you're encountering the “Shellexecuteex Failed” error while trying to open or install an application, it's very likely that the issue occurs due to an unexpected application shutdown (or installation executable) because it doesn't have admin access.
Try right click application, run as administrator.
Try reinstall again.
As it's a brand new Pc, you should contact the retailer for support enquiries as there should not be any issues especially installing software.
