Acid Pro 6.0d(Build360) Code number removed by Moderator

Purchased this product from Sony in 2006. Worked great. Then stopped using the product between 2010 and now. Opened the product again and the media manager would not load. I have no effects and automation. I get an error message that says cannot initialize media manager object. I would like to upgrade to Acid Pro 10. Will I have a problem with an apparent corrupted Acid Pro 6? Please advise. Geno Galantay, Angelgram Music

If you install AP10 it will not update AP6, it will install a new stand alone version of AP10.

If you do decide to go with AP10 I would STRONGLY suggest you read through this forum and see what you're about to get into. AP10 has ISSUES...Serious issues. It's a great program but since it's been converted to 64bit it isn't where it should be as a modern DAW.

Cheers and best of luck

Hey Geno, Max is right. AP10 has issues so I would check out the trial first if you haven't already bought the item. Now, if you are just going to use Audio and mostly like you did with version 6, good news is that it will work great in that sense. But if you try using the new bells and whistles that it will come with (side chaining, morph pads, melodyne...etc) its a gamble as you might be facing crashes as it is very unstable in that sense. But the original bare bone version is very strong (at least in my case). I have been back on it since the version 10 but use it only as strictly audio application for putting down songs very quickly (what it meant to be originally).

So, I would strongly suggest trying out the trial first.
