Acid Pro 10 plug-in scanning causes crash on start-up

I updated my Acid Pro Next to Acid Pro 10. It worked except for some plug-ins. After setting the plug-in scanner to scan the entire C (boot) drive, the program crashes when loading while scanning VST plug-ins. Is there a way to stop VST scanning before, or while opening the program? Is there a way to change scanning preferences in the Registry? I looked in there based on some old posts, but couldn't find anything. I've already tried uninstalling Acid Pro 10 and re-installing, twice, restarting the PC after each uninstall and re-install. Acid Pro Next is working fine. I'm running Windows 10 Pro with the recent 2004 update. The PC has an Aorus X399 Extreme motherboard, AMD 2950sx processor, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD.

There's a question in the FAQ about this - How to stop Acid scanning for effects during start up? - this should allow Acid to start without continuing the scan.

Also, adding the root of your system drive as a plugin folders is just a crazy idea. Once acid starts go in to plugin manager and remove c:\ ! :)
