Hi

Unless you want to pay for the Upgrade to the 64 bit version - do not install the update/upgrade. Music Maker 2021 will run using the MMM 2019 serial number, however it will be severely restricted in features and Instruments.

This isn't quite true. The key thing with running the "upgrade" is to make sure you don't replace Music maker 2019. It gives the option to install without replacing. It works exactly the same as installing the free version from the website which also gives that option. And then you can add all the features that you have in MM2019. Until this is done it will be severely restricted.

what does it do? does it improve the quality of sound?

@beatz1

Going 64 bit has no effect whatever on the quality of the sound your computer produces.

so what's it for & do?

@beatz1 32 bit applications can only use up to 4 gigabytes of RAM. Under Windows this limit is much lower, about 1.5 - 2 gigabytes of RAM. This means you cannot load a lot of memory hungry VSTs. Especially Kontakt libraries can occupy multiple hundreds of megabytes of RAM easily. Big ones need gigabytes. You wouldn't be able to load many of those libraries before hitting the limit. 64 bit architecture solves this problem.
