2 avi Exports selections

The Export to list shows 2 avi selections. I tried both. The avi selection at the top of the list exported as avi (with the expected huge file size, and lots of glitches in the video). The second one (at the bottom of the list) imported the clip as mp4 (what I usually use), and is the same file size as the mp4. It's the 2nd one I'm curious about. What would be the difference between straight mp4 and the avi which exports as mp4?

@KScott Hi, I believe the second one is AV1 not AVI, I don't know much about it so you may be better looking online, but Magix website does mention this about it needing Intel ARC or Nvidia 4000 series GPU

PS, although AV1 exports, the clip has a red hue to it when played in a media player, & when dragged back into MMS it flashes with black frames, I tried playing with the export settings when I upgraded to 2024 but so far no joy, It could well be because i have neither Intel ARC or Nvidia 4000 series GPU, basically this export option is useless to me.

Thanks. It's difficult reading tiny print! 😵

I don't know what Intel graphics I have (FWIW, NVidia is GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GDDR6). I have the Intel graphics checked in export options.

The AV1 export, IF that's what it is labeled as mp4 looks better than the one with mp4 export selected.
