Thank you Bert and Klaus! My studio is modeled after some of the some of the pioneers of synth music. I find those sounds seem to get appreciation in the more modern world of sounds. I will bring some of those sounds back in future contributions to Magix ;)

I appreciate your interest in how the synth sounds were done in this song. Well I did this exactly the way it would have been done with an Oberheim SEM polyphonic expander in the 70s. What you perceive as changes in distortion were actually dynamic changes in made to the subtractive filter while playing short melodies loaded into a sequencer on the fly and then also changes to an arpeggiator setup. So while playing at the keyboard I was also busy turning knobs on the front panel. Yes, the more ancient way of making music but the early pioneers of synth were always wanting to make new sounds beyond acoustical instruments. So imagining different scenes in the song you had to be quick at making changes to synth controls while playing. Yes, I had lots of fun in composing and performing this song. And now adding the imagery that represented the different dance scenes that I was imagining. ;)

I can see you are an expert at synths, Mark! I have learned a bit more about them by asking an AI chatbot. In the reply, I recognized some of the terms from when I was working with soundcards back in the 1990s. There were concepts new to me, such as setting up sweeps and filters to shape the sound. Still, I am hardly an expert but I can appreciate the synth samples Magix provides in their sample packs. I really like using them and can hear that synths can be very rich and strong sounding. Incidentally, Magix offers a few classic synths in their Instruments collection. I was noticing the Octave Cat and played through the little demo of it. A really nice sound. I almost didn't see your reply here. You can use the Magix Private Messaging system, or do an @Mark_Kostora to be sure of getting the person's attention.
