Will not accept my activation codeI

NJKatwoman wrote on 6/28/2022, 1:54 PM

I used Canva to make an intro for a video, and downloaded the MP4 files to my laptop. The files opened in my older version of Movie Edit MX, except the music was choppy and stuttering. When I used the "New and improved" version of Magix, the audio/music was perfect but the video part was just a blank green screen. I put my P2-code in and I was told it wasn't valid. I paid a lot of money for the new and improved version, and it is extremely difficult to use, and it won't play back the MP4 files that I downloaded from Canva. And how can I activate anything if you reject my serial code? Answers, please.

Hi

. . . . When I used the "New and improved" version of Magix . . . .

Please note Magix is the company not the program name.

Which "New and improved" version did you purchase?

If Movie Studio or Movie Edit Pro 2022 - it has been rebranded - and purchased direct from Magix, you should have received an email confirming your order and a new serial number beginning with P3-. If you did not receive the email, check your spam folder, they often end up there.

If this was Movie Studio 2022 upgrading from MX to the 2022 is a significant step and there have been many changes to the program layout for some effects, and new tabs for Templates and the Store.

The program also has a much higher system specification requirement then MX and we need your system specification to help with specific settings to improve the performance of the program.

What is your laptop specification, Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) your are working with.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab  would also help.

@NJKatwoman

All recent versions of Movie Edit Pro, now called Movie Studio, need a serial key beginning with P3; P2 codes are for older, now discontinued versions. So, exactly which version of MEP/MS do you now have? From what you write it would seem you may have installed a recent version but have not actually bought it; attempting to enter your code for MEP MX has produced the error message you have quoted.

If you have bought the upgrade to a later version you need to check carefully the email you would have received as confirmation of your purchase. It should include the correct serial key for your new product.

Thank you for your response! One issue was that I had to go into properties and check a box, because the files came from a different computer. Also, I went I to the Magix Premium settings and checked off the two boxes to allow graphics and audio. I have no idea about all of those other technical questions you have. I have a Windows 1p laptop, it uses Radeon graphics, it is 32 bit and that is all I know. I had purchased the upgrade and it downloaded to my computer. I do not recall getting an email regarding my purchase

Typo: I have a Windows 10 laptop not 1p like it says above. For now, I was able to use the audio and graphics that I downloaded from Canva on my Premium version, which I was unable to do before.

And I just found the P3- activation code. When I go into the help menu on the software, it gives me the old P2 number, but the number in the email that I found from last February of 2022, shows a P3 number.

@NJKatwoman

Hi

This sounds like you have both the old version and new installed on the laptop and you are looking in the old version if the P2- number is displayed in Help, About.

P3-Removed by Moderator.... This is the number that was sent via email. The program itself still gives a P2 number in the help/about section. Also, I was told that the program would activate itself automatically when I installed it this past February 28, 2022. When I go to online update, it tells me I am completely up to date

I do find this new and improved version a great deal more difficult to learn. I liked the older version better.

Hello, welcome

Please do not reveal your serial number in an open public user to user forum, I have removed it.

In an earlier post to this thread you wrote:

If that bolded phrase is literally true, and you are running a 32 bit version of Win 10, then any recent version of Movie Edit Pro/Movie Studio will not even install since they require a 64 bit OS!

Please try and answer ALL the questions asked in earlier posts in this thread. At the moment we really are guessing what the problem might be.
