Why would I have 34 sound collections showing in Magix Music Maker 2013 and 26 showing on Magix Samplitude Music Studio 2013 when both DAWs are installed on one computer?

Why would I have 34 Soundpool styles showing in (latest version) Magix Music Maker 2013 and only 26 Soundpool styles showing on (latest version) Magix Samplitude Music Studio 2013, when both DAWs are installed on one computer?

If I launch Samplitude Music Studio and count the styles, I count 26. When I launch MAgix Music Maker 2013 Premium on the same computer I count 34 different styles in the Soundpool.

MMM only has an add+ button and Samplitude Music Studio has the following options:

Add Styles

Auto Play

Hide Instruments without available loops

Reset Soundpool

Clean up Soundpool

I've tried every option and it seems as though Samplitude is not doing a proper scan of the soundpools.

I'm stumped - any ideas? How can I correct. I suspect that I somehow I may have deleted some of the original Soundpools that shipped with Samplitude Music Studio.

I'm using Windows XP w/sp3 and a core2duo processor.

Are any of the soundpools duplicated? I have an issue with one of my Music Makers duplicating the same soundpools, so it appears I have more than I do, but they are just duplicates.

Hey John - thanks for your help - no duplicates - it just seems that Sam MS is not scanning the soundpool folder correctly. Every time it goes to scan, I have to redirect it via manual navigation to the correct folder. I may have more than one folder or perhaps (oddly enough) Magix MM and Sam MS store their soundpool files in different folders??? Now it's bringing up solo kits under styles - really nackkered.

Do you know of an easy way to rebuild the soundpool folder w/o loosing all the loops?

There is a possibility when you run two software by the same maker on one machine it could create problem.

In your problem you got two options to trace your problem.

1. In Music Maker there is a folder which keep all soundpool (Basic_2013 may be like this) you can find on Magix program folder or some where else such as Program/Application data/Magix. Open that and see how many soundpools are there and how many are showing when you open Music Maker. Same you can do with Samplitude.

2. As you are running two Magix software on one computer to find out the problem disable one program or un-instal (only if you can re-install). Then run only one software and see if there is any change.

Additional: In my MMM 16 Premium I got an option "Use installed Soundpool even after reset" un check it before Reset. (refer screen shot)

Try your luck and see if the above info helps you or not.

Hey John - I'm wondering if there are any best ways to organize the soundpools. Currently, I have all the individual styles in their own "collection" folder... then I have all of these folders in the soundpool folder.

I'm thinking I should just put all the individual styles in the soundpool folder and forget about sub-folders for the individual style collections.

I've discovered that I have the duplicates because some soundpool collections have the same styles.

How do others organize theis soundpool collections?

Thanks for your help - I don't have this version or this screen/option.

I had the same problem. Not all of the "soundpools" loaded. So I reloaded, and more of them came through. But also, I got duplicates of some of them. I too, have both "Music Maker and Samplitude". I believe the soundpool can only hold so much, and when it's full it just diverts the remainder. IDK???
