How do I get Movie Edit Pro 14 to recognize my Sony DV Camcorder? Windows Movie Maker did not have any problems.

What Sony model is it exactly and how do you connect it to the computer? Have you tried both the DV AVI and the straight to MPEG-2 capture options in the program?

Maybe right now you just need to work around the problem to meet your deadline. However, in the long run, if you want to keep working with this camera, you won't really get around a FireWire controller and cable. It's not expensive either. Basic equipment you need to have when working with a DV cam.
