Why is Video easy not working properly with some video file types?

I have been using Video easy for a while now and made several movies using files from my 2 cameras. However, I have just tried using some film footage from a different camera and it's not working properly. I can insert the videos and it looks like it has worked. But when I view them the problems start which include: it often starts jumping, it is sometimes freezing on a particular scene or going black whilst the sound continues in the background and the sound and the visuals loose sync with each other.

Furthermore, when I try to 'Finish' a movie containing these files it gets right up to 100% and terminating, then the whole programme freezes before it has completed and I have to close it in task manager.

The file I am having a problem with is an 'AVCHD Video (.mts)'

Can anyone help? I thought this sofware was supposed to take any file types of film, it just doesn't seem right and I have spent so many hours trying different things to get it to work I am loosing the will to live!

What is the spec for your computer? Include details of processor type and speed, system memory installed, which version of Windows you are running.

Hi, I have tried on two different computers and had the exact same problem on them both:

Laptop:

Intel Core I3 CPU M330 @ 2.13GHz

2.00 GB RAM

64-bit operating system - Windows 7 Home Premium

PC:

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

3.00 GB RAM

32-bit operating system - Windows Ultimate 7

For viewing AVCHD you really need a quad core processor with at least 4Gb of RAM.

The Laptop is seriously underpowered for AVCHD, having only 2 cores and 2Gb RAM.

As I do not have Video Easy installed it is a little difficult to advise however, if the program has settings which enable you to change the playback resolution then try changing these to a lower setting. This may improve the PC performance so that playback is more acceptable (it will not be perfectly smooth).

Windows 32bit will only recognise 3.2Gb of RAM so you would not gain any significant speed If you added more RAM and kept the 32 bit Windows. Adding more RAM to the PC will only be effective if you change to the 64bit version ofWindows.
