Why is it when I convert a 28:00 .wav file to mp3 It reports that the length is 27:56?

I produce a radio show that is supposed to be 28:00. But when using the newer MP3 Maker MX the resulting file is reported to be 27:56. I have tried this on several machines with the same outcome. If I use an older version of MP3 Maker the length is reported  as 28:00. MediaInfo reports the audio length as 28:00 but the file size is 27:56. No one seems to be able to explain this. Both programs are setup as default. Same bitrate.128kb and 44100 samples. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

There is only one thing that I can think of. I had, and still have, a problem of taking a wav file exported from a video into Magix Music & Audio Lab (aka Audio Cleaning Lab), cleaning it and re-exporting it to a wav. It came back slightly longer; the reverse of your problem. Magix has still not come up with an explanation or solution. Unless someone has a solution for you, I suggest that you put this one to Magix.

Good luck.
