Why does changing the tempo/pitch cause MMM 16 to crash

stevelacy9 wrote on 3/29/2012, 4:30 PM

Can anyone please explain to me why this is happening? It is really frustrating not being able to edit the pitch/tempo of vocals/music.

Everytime I try to do it it works fine and then when I press play and it gets up to the part where it has the tempo/pitch change it crashes and never works.

I put the disk back into my laptop and did the repair option, but it still didn't fix the problem.

Please, I'm desperate what do I do?

"anyone...?"

Impatient, aren't we?

I'm not giving MAGIX a pass here, but you must realize that pitch and tempo changes require a lot of processing power.  This can tax you system especially if you have use a lot of effects, multiple MIDI instrument, etc.

You might want to try John's .ini file trick.  You'll have to do your own search to find it (unless he wants to chime in).

You may also want to review my responses to the posting just before yours (in the Music section).

 Hi Steve,

if you want tu run a good DAW, forget about Music Maker, it crashes very often, and there is no support coming from MAgix. It works like this: You pay for incomplete beta-versions and non-compatible parts of Magix.

Better to say good-bye.

Hi

John's ini trick is -

With MMM not running use windows explorer to search for musicmaker.ini and delete the largest one you find - it will be14kb or more in size. Then start MMM.

When you search ensure you search hidden files and folders depending on the version of windows you have the setting wil be different as will the locaton of the ini file
