Why are my videos not replaying smoothly in PhotoStory Easy?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

We need more information:-

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings dialog pane.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip.

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.

The PC is a Sony Vaio 24 All-In-One

I originally tested out the Magix Photo Story Deluxe sftw, and the (same imported videos) ran smoothly. I saw that there was an easier version (Photo Story Easy) and decided to try that version. Once I "imported" the same two videos in to the (Easy) storyboard, those same videos "hung up" and staggered through playback? Yet, that did not happen in (Deluxe) version?

Thanks for the computer specs, we still need the MediaInfo analysis of one of the clips you are importing to confirm if the issue is due to the PC being underpowered for the video format/resolution you are importing to play smoothly especially is a template effect has bee applied.

The key data in that MediaInfo analysis is the lines which read:

Frame rate mode                          : Variable
Frame rate                               : 59.140 FPS
Minimum frame rate                       : 19.785 FPS
Maximum frame rate                       : 61.058 FPS

That is a huge range and one which almost any video editing package is going to struggle with, especially as you are using the basic version of Magix' most basic editing apps!

However, it should be possible to at least go some way towards alleviating this, though, given that range, this may not be wholly successful. Download and install Handbrake convertor and use it to change the source frame rate to Constant, perhaps at 59.97fps. Then try this converted version in PS Easy.
