Which Movie Studio or Video Pro X version has these features?

Either program will do Picture in Picture
If I'm understanding correctly both will 'zoom a custom region'
I'd avoid direct upload to YT with any editor on the market, use YT's page for that
Overlaid text can be added in either program but neither will import CC or subtitle files. there is a text to speech option but I know nothing of that,

Both screen record but I haven't used it in yrs so someone else will give details on that, I use a different software for screen capture
Text to speech is subscription only (or it was) so I don't know about that.

Really check what these programs do. They make lots of mistakes such as with the word row. Should the program say row as in rowed a boat or row as in argument?

To date I have not heard one that gets text to speech or speech to text completely correct. Even with vocal training.

Again, Bow as in ship or bow as with arrow? or do you read or have you read? I will wind my watch as the wind blows in my face. The list goes on and annoying when heard.

Speech flow timing is also sometimes out. How good the Magix offering is I couldn't say.

Just to clarify:
1. I need to split the screen in up to 4 different rectangular portions, each one showing a different but synchronized cut of (different videos). This is the kind of result I am after:

2) during my tutorials I often need to focus on 1 or 2 smaller portions of the recorded screen capture video, and enlarge them to make details stand out. More or less like this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H9B3a8q3rdM

@fbal Here's a very quick basic example, keyframe & enlarge etc, to your exact needs whatever they may be, @browj2 can point you in the direction of better tutorial vids.

For some reason I couldn't post this on here so I put it on YT.

You can download the Trial version & try it for yourself before you spend any money.

Further to what the others said:

3) The direct upload to YT feature was removed from the programs because YT/Google keeps changing their algorithms and after a while, the uploader would not work. In any event, never do this. Always export to MP4, review, edit, export, review, edit.... until you are satisfied with the result. Get someone else to review because you will probably not see all of your errors or problems.

4) and 5) Subtitles - to be clear, depending which part of the world you live in, one uses either CC (closed captioning) or Subtitles to mean the same thing. In Movie Studio/VPX, there are titles. If you move the title towards the bottom, we call it a subtitle. It is embedded in the movie and cannot be turned off and on by a viewer.

Closed captioning requires a separate file, per language. MMS/VPX does not have this capability. However, you can do this directly in YouTube. You can have YT add the text and you edit it or you can upload your text or type it in, and adjust the timing. You can add languages. YT can translate or you can do it yourself, but you are best to have it checked by someone who speaks the language. As Ray pointed out, translations can be very tricky, as can text to speech.

7) Text to speech - is included in VPX16 (Microsoft TTS) for both perpetual and subscriptions, each with limited amount. You can get more by using Azure, which is the same - from Microsoft. In Azure, there are a couple more parameters that can be adjusted. Look at what Azure includes for languages and speakers, etc., and that is what you get in VPX. MMS2025 may also have TTS for both perpetual and subscription. For 2024, TTS/STT is with a subscription only.

8) STT - nothing automatic is perfect. You will still have to check the text and place or adjust the titles where you want. And, these will be titles embedded in the movie, not separate CC type files.

When you start, start with a small test project and figure out the workflow.

@browj2 Technically CC are literally the words spoken in the video written in the same language, Subtitles are a translation of the spoken words into another language. 😉 But yes both terms are used for added text often at the bottom of the screen.

Hi Francesco.

Once you get used to it it gets easier to do picture in picture. Try to where possible have all the recordings the same frame rate and resolution. In theory you could add many more if needed.

The confusion over term and usage is worse then this, there is a third term called Lower Third which can be a text overlay with, or without, graphics, or a graphic only overlay in the bottom third of the screen, hence its name.

Subtitles (ST) and Closed Captions (CC) are defined as 'user selectable', ie. they can be turned on/off and are not embedded in the video

Lower Thirds are embedded in the video and cannot be turned off.

In some countires ST and CC are treated as being identical, in Canada and others and many other countries Closed captions are to enable deaf people to understand what is being said or description of what is going on.
