On Magix Music Maker 17 which I bought from Amazon.co.uk it said there are 1500 sounds and loops yet I have only a handful
OK...after doing my own research....
It looks like you bought the boxed Basic version of MM-17, which claims to have more than 1500 sounds.
No matter which version you have, there are usually seven "versions" (pitches, chords, patterns) of each soundpool object/sample. These are accessed using the numbered bars at the top of the media pool window. They (MAGIX) are counting each of these versions as an individual sample! That's how they get "1500". So, what looks like only 200 or so samples to you are actually over 1500.
The Premium version (the full soundpool) has "over 6000 sounds".
