Hi

. . . . I'd like to know what is the IN switch on the scart lead for . . .

Some SCART connectors with 3 phono (RCA) connectors ( Yellow, Red and White) are not capable of bidirectional signal support so they have the IN/OUT switch.

In the OUT position the correct pins in the SCART plug are connected to the RCA connectors for playing from the VCR and vice versa for the IN position for recording to the VCR.

For more details on the pins of a scart plug see here - right side of page

. . . . is it at all possible for me to SEND video from my laptop . . .

That depends on your laptop graphics card output options.

Ok, thanks -

so how do I go about recording TO the VCR from my Macbook using the Magix cables?

My graphics card, etc are all a good spec, I just don't see any way of doing this. Any advice most appreciated!

Hi

. . . . so how do I go about recording TO the VCR from my Macbook . . .

This is a MAC issue, I would suggest you look on the MAC forums for the solution to getting a composite video signal to connect to your VCR through a suitable adapter/converter, if one is available, which can convert the MacBook video out.

Note that you are going to lose a lot of the quality of any video on MacBook.
