What exactly is the difference in Music Maker 17?

Hi there.

I am relatively new to Magix products and whatnot, however I was debating on which program to get. Right now, after looking through all the products Magix has to offer, I found Music Maker 17 and Samplitude Producer 11.5.  However, I'm not exactly sure which one would better suit my interests I intend with it.

I have a Youtube Channel and wanted to start making my own original music. You know, I write my own lyrics and can record my voice as well as a piano if I wanted to put a few seconds of that in there. I'd also want to be able to write and record songs for friends. Could someone tell me what the intended purpose for the 2 programs are and which would better suit me? Thanks a lot!

Once upon a time, MAGIX offered a PDF file with a comparison chart of their various music software packages.  Unfortunately, it is no longer made available.  I assume that is because it made it too easy for potential customers to make an informed decision and prevented them from making a mistake by purchasing the wrong program.

The main differences between MMM and Samplitude is this...

Samplitude is a true DAW, while MMM is not.  MMM is a "loop-based" software - to make a loop repeat over and over you simply stretch the object out as desired.  I assume, in Samplitude, you would have to copy and paste the object as many times as needed to accomplish the same thing.

Samplitude can do multi-track recording, MMM can only record one track at a time.

Samplitude can import and export up to 24 bit audio, MMM can import and export only up to 16 bit audio.

Samplitude can export up to 96 kHz, MMM can export only up to 48 kHz.

MMM is limited to 64 tracks - I believe Samplitude can have up to 96 tracks.

Aside from the points listed above, Samplitude and MMM are very much alike, however they do differ in some very important aspects.  Samplitude includes a number of features not available in MMM.
