Yes, and it goes past the starting point value.

The only thing I did notice is that using the right key once you go right through the original start value the speed of stepping forward slows down to about 3 to 4 frames per second, i.e. stepping left is much quicker than stepping right.

A long shot - if you keep your mouse clicked down on the right button for a few seconds does it eventually step right as it should, albeit rather slowly?

I have the same problem when in the Edit Trimmer - Object content left button works, right button doesn't, except on that one object that works.

Seems to work okay here as well.

You can do what you want to do in VPX without using the trimmers. Shift+Alt+Left Click in the video object and drag left or right. See how that goes.

I agree, but not to the same extent if you want to be quickly precise. On the Object Trimmer, the fade allows you to quickly set a precise amount of fade; is there another way that is precise, and quick? Shift+Alt+Left Click is excellent, but not precise.

It is frustrating to see that both you and John EB have no problem with the Object content buttons. The left button works fine, but the right button just does not want to work, except in the special case that I mentioned.

I am working on a my next tutorial on basic editing, which is just cutting and trimming, but I wanted to show the Object trimmer as a precise way to do the same thing. I will persist, but use the one and only video clip that allows me to use the right counter button on the Object content, hoping that it works for others. Or, maybe I should just show it and mention the fade part.

Aaarrrrgh!

After Peter's shortcut, I started playing with Ctrl and Alt in the Object Trimmer. I found that holding down Ctrl+Alt and then the mouse button on the right Object content button would get it to move.

Then I added an mxv file to the timeline, trimmed it, opened the Object Trimmer, and simply pressing on the right Object content button now worked, on all of the clips. Why wouldn't the wretched thing work before?

More tests tomorrow.

Interesting solution of Peters cannot remember seeing it in the keyboard shortcut lists.

As an aside I very rarely, if never, use the Edit trimmer so I have swapped the shortcuts for the Object trimmer and Edit trimmer.

I looked it up and there are a couple more under the same heading in the manual:

Shift + hold mouse and drag up/down - Move object only in the tracks (from one track to another), position remains the same

Alt + hold mouse and drag to the right/left - Move object content and object end, object start remains the same

These are not on the pdf Shortcuts list that comes with VPX. There are others that are missing from the list, in particular, Search for gaps Ctrl+Shift+C.

For the Object Trimmer, I tried on my desktop this morning and no way could I get the right button for Object content to move except on one object. I tried inserting an mxv file and it works on that one, but did not unstick the button like it did on my Surface Pro. At least holding down Ctrl+Alt+left (undocumented feature) mouse button on the right arrow Object content gets it to move. The manual states to use Ctrl+left mouse button to increase the speed of the right arrow to 5 frames per click, but Ctrl+Alt does it for me.

I have to admit, I rarely, ok, never used the Object Trimmer until now. Now that I know how it and the Edit trimmer work, I will use them, even if just for setting fades. I do often have to zoom in on the timeline to make a precise cut, the Object Trimmer makes this a lot easier. Seeing the first and last frames in the editor monitors is a big help.

There is one more problem that you could perhaps validate. The bottom right controls (n and m) move the end of the object. Going to the right extends the object and pushes the adjacent object to the right unless there is already a transition. Try it without a transition. Watch the object to the right of the adjacent object and you will see that a transition is made instead of pushing it. I think that all objects are supposed to be pushed to the right, but maybe it is by design. Seems strange to me.
