With15.0.2.72, I can no longer load any LUTs. Can someone please confirm?

Also, as with the previous patch, clicking on the "Load lookup table.." defaults to

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X8

This is not a reasonable place to put LUTs IMO, and I would rather have them under the Project folder. I would like to suggest to Magix to change the default location, or better still, to allow the user to set the default location.

Note also that the above location is where a couple of ini files are placed. These seem to be important and it would likely not be a good idea to start adding LUTs in here. I tried just to see if the location of the LUTs was a problem, and it was not.

The main ini files are under:

C:\Users\my_name\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X8

Hi John CB

. . . . With15.0.2.72, I can no longer load any LUTs. Can someone please confirm? . . . .

Confirmed - repair ( do not try this have to reinstall now ) and reset do not fix the issue, there is no message in the log as to why it does not load - previously I would get one of these 2 error messages when there was a problem:

[MxVfx LUT]:Failed to load LUT file 'file://computer2 . . . . . / xxxxxxxxxx.cube': bad allocation

or

[MxVfx LUT]: Failed to load LUT file 'C:/ProgramData/MAGIX/Video_Pro_X8/ . . . . /xxxxxxxxx.cube': Look up tables with 1D dimensions are currently not supported.

Also looks like the update may have broken the Load effects mask (Brightness / Contrast dropdown menu ) mine no longer work.

HTH

Hi John EB,

The  Load effects mask works fine, but other things seem to have happened to my computer. I can't turn off Bold here.

Could you please try recording an audio clip. When I accept it, the maximum take is 7s 474ms. (Unbold came back by itself.) I have seen this before so I don't know if it is something that I am missing for a problem with the program.

I'm going to reboot.

EDIT: After rebooting, I had the same audio problem but have narrowed it down to the movie itself. The problem is on the second movie in a project. Recording worked fine in movie 1, and I added a movie 3 and it was ok. So there is something going on in movie 2 causing a problem.

Hi J & J

All is not well then with the patch. The German members are reporting a sound problem with MPEG4 imports where the sound loops at 4 x the speed after export.

Magix have acknowledged the bug and say it will be fixed with a(nother) "timely" patch.

I won't be applying 15.02.72 then but that impressive list of fixes explains a few subtle glitches I have not been able to explain.

BTW has anyone else noticed that the effect sliders seem more sluggish than in prvious versions?

Hi

@ Peter

Thanks for the information - I ended up having to re-install and am currently at version 15.0.0.56.

I am awaiting a direct link to the previous patch, IIRC, 15.0.0.81 which, among other things, fixed issues with selecting the correct colour curves under Brightness and Contrast that I had and now have again.

Hi

Looks like there is another patch out 15.0.2.85. Very "timely". I can not see a mention of the audio bug in the change log though...

Hi

Thanks Peter

Installed - LUTS now working, however the displayed name is not always correct - get   'generate by resolve'   for many of the LUTS I have.

Did not have the sound issue so cannot comment.

Hi John

The Audio bug was introduced in 15.0.2.72 as far as I can tell so did you export an MPEG4 whilst you had that patch installed or with the latest patch.

The generate by resolve must be referring to a LUT which has been generated in DaVinci Resolve, which can generate and export LUTS I believe.

I see the latest patches claim to have "sped up" the effects applied with the LUTs and did notice that they appeared to be loading the CPU a lot previously. Maybe they lost the GPU acceleration that occurred with the effects applied singularly and they have now enabled that......haven't patched yet so will see.....actually I noticed that the Shot Match function was loading down preview also, so maybe that has improved?

I did and did not have any issues, however I used the Intel codecs for exporting, not the MainConcept.

One issue I do have is that the media pane always starts up in List mode and does not retain Large icons - my preferred mode when shutting down.  Just need to remember how I fixed this once with MEP.

Added: fix for Large icons display is change value of [ExplorerV3_Tab0]

line:     View for PlayList Directory=1

to         View for PlayList Directory=3

in the programs ini file.

This was not being saved on program exit
