'Vita could not find the file' error in Magix Music Maker MX

DavidShanks wrote on 10/25/2011, 5:35 AM

Hi all.

In Magix Music Maker MX Download Version, once I've finished installing all the instrument packages, (including tak package) when I try to create a .tak file or load a pre-made .tak loop, it says  that Vita can't find the file in package:

When i I click 'find' and on the corresponding package file, I get this message:

Help please!! :(

OK....maybe I'm confused because I don't have the latest and greatest versions of MMM.

First, can you tell us how you are creating these .tak files?

At least in the past, ".tak" files (takes) were/are simply saved files of audio files that have been altered or had effects applied to them.

Vita is a MIDI editor.  It is impossible to load an audio file into a MIDI editor (at least not without going through some conversion process first).  Vita can only import ".mid" files.

I downloaded the instrument packages 1+2 and one of them came with the vita instruments and a package of .tak loops that require vita instruments, and basically, whenever I try to use the Vita instruments it wont work even though the download program in magix downloaded and installed it for me.

Thanks

Hi

I have no  .tak files in any of the instrument packages.

Check that your Vita files are in the correct location - for Windows 7 mine are in:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\xxxProgram Versionxxx\Synth\Vita

substitute your version for xxxProgram Versionxxx.  If you installed in the default location.

If you are running XP then you may have to search for the folders Synth\Vita.  there you should find the Vita dll of about 7.8 Mb in size

Instrument files have the file extension  .vita and are located in various folders within the Vita folder.

Thanks for the replies, I've checked all folders etc, I'm running Vista Ultimate. And the download came with a .tak package too, it asked me if I wanted to install it whilst it was installing one of the instrument packages.

Proof:

Thanks

Hi David

Well   I = (b/a) * pi * i * e / mu.

I have the TAK zip file in the same location as yours, but have never been asked to install it !!

Hence I have no .tak files installed.

Did the install request come when you accessed a particular Vita instrument ?  I have tried nearly all of them and do not get a request to install.
