Video size

I had downloaded and installed the trial version of "Magix Video Delux 2008". I have a Panasonic SDR-H250EF-S HD video cemara wich record video in 704x576 16:9 format.
If I play these videos with Windows Media Player, the ratio is good (16:9).
When I import the video in the editor, the software ask me to automatically adjust the video size (704x576(4:3) detected). I click "Do not adjust" or "Adjust" but the video is seen in 4:3 format (horizontally condensed :( ). How can I force the video to be imported in 16:9 format ?
If you can solve this problem, I will probably buy the software.

Thank you a lot for your help.

Try right clicking on the imported video and click "Object properties" then change the aspect ratio to 16:9

I have an SDR-S26 which produces 704x576 MPEG files too.  As well the 16:9 ratio not always being recognised properly, I got thin black padding lines at the sides of my movie.  I've fixed both of these things and speeded up my workflow with a handy little utility which may or may not fix your mpeg files too.  It's worth a go.  Have a look at www.sdcorrect.co.uk for details and to download (the download is free - I'm just sharing, not selling).
