Vegas Post: Vegas Effects only gives me demo version

I have Vegas post, but when I use Vegas Effects I only get the demo version of the software. Any video I edit in Vegas Post using Vegas Effects puts a huge water mark on the video. I don't get a water mark in Vegas 17, just when I use Vegas Effects in Vegas 17.
I have installed and uninstalled Vegas Post three times now and I STILL only get the demo version of Vegas Effects.
This was a complementary copy of Vegas Post. Here is a copy of the activation email (without keys that were sent with the email)

I follow the link and use the key provided in the email I received from Magix.
Is a 'complementary copy' just a demo version? If so why isn't it called a demo version?

Windows 10, i7 5960X, 32 gb ram, SSD, GTX 1070ti

Vegas products have there own forum here - I would suggest you post there - note Post does have its own forum so post in the Vegas Pro.
