Vandal x64

ailerom wrote on 1/26/2019, 12:48 AM

I downloaded the only Vandal installer from my account. It is for v1.104 and is for the 32 bit version only. I contacted support and was told there is no x64 version. I have since been told via technical support that there will be no more updates for Vandal and that therefore an x64 version will never be.

Since then I have spoken to other Vandal users and even a previous developer associated with the company. These conversations have led me to believe there is a newer version of the installer that is not in my account. I have since contacted technical support again but am not getting any response.

Can someone (a) confirm one way or another if there is an x64 version of Vandal, (b) why is it not in my account, (c) how I can get access to the installer if it does exist.

Hello? It's me. I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to provide me with some basic level of support or even just the latest version of the product I bought.

Hello.

I think you may be under the misapprehension that this forum is a direct link to Magix support. It is not; it is a community space provided by Magix for users to be offered advice and suggestions by other users. Magix staff rarely participate here.

I would strongly suspect that the fact you have received no response from any other user means that no-one on the forums can actually answer your question, sorry.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the information. I only posted here because I am not getting any response from the official channels which leaves only one option and the Magix forum seemed like the best one to try on the off chance that a member of the Magix staff might pay one of their rare visits.

Hi,

I don't know what you get when you purchase Vandal separately. I have Vandal with Samplitude Pro X3 Suite and it's under:

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Samplitude Pro X3 Suite\MAGIX Plugins

so I assume that it is 64 bits, but it may not be as Samplitude works with both 32 and 64 bit plugins.

You can try asking the question on the Samplitude Forum. You have to sign up to see the posts.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm not keen to make the move to Samplitude but I will check it out just to see if it give me access to Vandal.

Even more unfortunate is the erroneous information I am getting from support. They are nice people but it seems they have some decent gaps in their product knowledge. Most recently I've been informed activation is not possible. I just activated it a few days ago. Also I've been told there is no newer version but I know there is a later version than the one in my account. They just can't or won't add the latest version to my user area.

And finally, sadly it seems this is true, I've been informed development has stopped (not such a surprise really).

In which product are you using Vandal?

Mainly Reaper and Cubase but occasionally I may use it in FLStudio.

Hi there,

Sorry if you haven't been getting the information you were after. Whether or not a 64bit version would be available for the particular Vandal generation you have, may depend on the license you have and when you purchased it. There certainly have been a few iterations of this plug-in. The current one would be available in 64bit, though. You can download the installer here:

http://dl03.magix.net/vandal_int.exe

Check whether this works for you, and whether it accepts your Vandal serial number. If the installation succeeds, and the plug-in comes up in your 64bit DAW, but you can get it activated, I'll see what I can do for you. I'll shoot you a private message, so you can contact me directly.

Cheers!

It got worked out thanks. Was a crazy support ride, and although I have no idea for how long it is working now in 64 bit mode.
