IMHO it is not good practice to change the originals, good practice is to work on copies of the original images. It is better to use a dedicated image editing program to correct images rather than use Photostory.

Although Photostory can export the altered images, the size is going to be limited to the resolution of the project. You will get better quality prints by keeping the original resolution of the image and adjusting the images in an image editing program as mentioned above.

Additionally, the adjustments you make for print are very different from those for use for screen viewing, eg. you should, and can, increase the sharpness considerably more for print than the screen, another issue, for which you have to adjust differently, is due to the colour range of print being lower than that of the screen.
