USB out of order

Daniel-Sonne wrote on 6/6/2019, 3:20 AM

Hi

Im having trouble getting my computer to recognize the USB at my magix videosaver 8th edition. As i put in the USB to the computer, it makes a quick red flash when USB is half way in, but the flash turns off when the USB is completely mounted.

The computer doesnt detect the USB, which makes me unable to use Video ease to capture my old tapes. Any1 able to help? Is it supposed to turn off the light, and i just need to be patient?

@Daniel-Sonne

Welcome to the Magix forums.

First, please read this post and give us all the information requested there. It really is helpful to we fellow-users who might be able to offer advice to you!

Second, you say your computer doesn't detect the USB. How are you confirming this, via Device Manager? Do you have a different USB socket on your computer you could plug it into?

One other thought (and why telling us about your computer is important); it is possible that a Windows update has rendered your USB device inoperative. How old is it?

@johnebaker and @emmrecs

Thanks for the quick respons guys! I've tried several USB entrances allready without luck. I've made a case at the support as well with the info:

Win10

Realtec audio (no webcam)

RTX2070 graficcard

I5 processor

The red light is turned off, and thats mainly the reason that i supposed that the computer didnt detect the USB (and ofc. the fact that no autorun occured, videoeasy found nothing, and no USB-registration occured in the lower right corner of windows)

Hi

Thanks for the spec - the issue is most likely that the USB drivers Windows has installed for the USB Video converter are 64 bit and you need 32 bit drivers.

Without knowing the version of the USB converter it is difficult to advise which drivers to install, are there any code numbers or model numbers on the converter and what colour is it?

The versions I know of are :

  • K0067
  • RSIV9
  • Black with no markings
  • Red/White with no markings
  • and possibly 2861
