Today my Xara webdesigner wants to do a update. The updater programm ( exe file) was blocked by my F secure virussccanner. It shows infected with: Trojan-Spy:W32/Zbot.E!DeepGuard Is this a known issue?
Exactly which version of Web Designer do you have? I ask because Xara products are no longer sold by or supported by Magix and you may need to ask your question to Xara support.
As to the general issue of spyware in your update file: I think it highly unlikely that any Magix update would include anything "dangerous" to your computer.
Version 24.4.0.70344, it's Xara. The Xara site links to this comunity... The trojan is not on my pc, if the updater starts f-secure direct blocks the exe. file.
You got the right advice from @emmrecs (Jeff). I also agree with @browj2 (John CB) advice to register on the Talk Graphics forum. Here, like on the Magix forum, you can ask questions and find answers about Xara products. I found an answer that indicates that the latest update of Web Designer is blocked. See: IDP.Generic threat since update (talkgraphics.com)
Good morning, I got a answer from Xara. It is a ( known) false positive on a few virusscanners. Allow the exe in the virusscanner works. I just want to be shore before doing this. Thank you all giving advice. Rene
