Tutorial video does not match product

atf wrote on 12/2/2021, 3:24 AM

Being new to Photostory 2022 i ran the tutorial video to start a project. Looks simple.

But after downloading pics and running wizard i get only template options that are limiting and not shown on the tutorial. What am i doing incorrectly that takes me from the simple process of the tutorial to the video templates that are not shown on the video.

Sorry if this is a simplistic question for here

@atf

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Assuming you have purchased PS and registered it, did you then download and install ALL the additional content that is available?

@atf

Did you look under Help>Free download? If so, you should see this screen:

This is on my computer, where ALL those additional files etc. are shown as "Installed". If you haven't downloaded and installed any/all of them you need to do so!

Thanks Jeff, have appreciated your help but going to move on a this stage.

All these files are shown as installed, although showing this mornings date which is strange as i have not installed anything today. Perhaps just showing that they are installed currently?

Anyway will use different software as clearly either i am doing something wrong (more than possible) or just not happening this time around.

Thanks again atf

@atf

Sorry to hear this.

Can you provide a link to the tutorial that you viewed since it would seem from what you write that there may be a problem with it and Magix want to remove or change any of these which are out-of-date or have errors?

Thank you.

Hi Jeff,

Can I first say again I appreciate the help you gave. I had an early version (several years ago) of Photostory that I loved before these templates appeared. I have given a screen shot of where I get to after downloading the pics for a project and clicking on Slideshow wizard.

All I wanted was the simple process shown on the video (the link won't copy) which worked perfectly in earlier versions without the Templates shown.

Video is : Help / Show introductory video / takes you to:

ALL TUTORIAL VIDEOS ABOUT:
PHOTOSTORY DELUXE / Introductory video

Thanks again atf

@atf

Hi

Assuming you mean these tutorials here:

https://www.magix.com/gb/photo-graphic/photostory/tutorials/#c1474973

. . . . All I wanted was the simple process shown on the video (the link won't copy) which worked perfectly in earlier versions without the Templates shown . . . .

In the earlier versions, Photostory 2018 and earlier, the movie template were under the Media tab, as with Magix other 2 video editors, there were some layout design changes, with all 'template' based features being moved to the Templates tab along with other.

What you see in the tutorial video on templates is, I suspect, a pre-release version which has a slightly different layout, between what is was and what it is now, has been used to create the tutorials.

The duration selector has been moved to the cog icon bottom right of the template pane - see image below - red arrow, the magenta arrow indicates the dropdown for setting the size of the template icons.

You may find other features have also moved location.
