When I try to "Start trial version" all I get is this picture over top of everything. It won't load up, I can't move or close it without shutting computer off.

It looks like Windows defender is blocking the program from loading by stopping it from connecting to the internet to verify it is a legitimate copy of the program.
Go to Settings \ Windows Security \ Firewall & Network protection \ Allow an app through the firewall, and make sure the program is set to be allowed through. If it is not in the list then search for it manually by clicking on the change settings box which will activate the Allow another app box. From there you can search for the program which should be in C: \ Program Files \ Magix \ Magix Movie Studio and look for the programs exe file.
