@Jim-Gogo

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so NOT a contact for any Magix staff and PS is certainly NOT our program!

When you installed PS 2021 did you also download and install all the additional content? Check under Help>Free download. One of the packages listed there is quite a large file (146.42 MB) of Transitions.

@Jim-Gogo

Are you working in Storyboard mode or Timeline mode?

A transition is basically an overlap of two adjacent photos/video clips, sometimes with effects. It is not between 2 photos; it is an overlap. See below.

Are you saying that you can't do that?

To make a simple crossfade transition from the Timeline, click on the A/B button at the left of clip, and select Crossfade from the menu.

Are you able to do that to get what is shown in the first image?

I have a similar problem I think for which I would love to know what we touched to cause this problem. My son touched something (he has no idea what) that removed all transitions in the frame for this project while in timeline mode. We cannot figure out what we need to click to return the transitions to where they normally are by default at left and right ends of the frame. Please help! Rookies...

Hi

Is there a reason for the same image to be on 2 different tracks - the one on track 2 is obscuring the one on track one and you sill not see the transition - think of track 1 as being the bottom layer, any thing else on a higher track number will be on top of a lower track number.

Check the rest of the timeline to see if the same situation has occurred.

the issue is there even when we have only content on track 1...note that we even started a new project and inserted c couple pictures into track 1 of that project and still we cannot see the transition blue/orange....see the Dec 23 problem project as compared to the Dec 26 "dummy project" where you see the orange/blue...thanks for any help and thanks for any help and thanks for the quick reply!

@Marc-Joiner

Hi,

You have posted in a thread that is about PhotoStory, but you have Movie Edit Pro. Can you open a new thread under Video, and Movie Edit Pro? You can refer to this thread, but add in information about the version that you are using - basic, Plus or Premium, year, and version under Help, About.

Also, learn how to take screen shots. You may have noticed that no one here uses a camera to take screen shots.

To be clear, transitions are not between video or photo objects, they are overlaps. In your first image, I see the transition button at the left of the first image. Click on the second one and you should see the transition button at the head (beginning) of the object. You will only see the transition button at the beginning of a selected object. You can click on the box to get the menu, or use the Template transition that you drag onto the object that will have that transition at its beginning, not the ending. The transition will make an overlap of 1 second. If you now drag the object to the right, the overlap and thus the transition duration decreases. If you drag too far, no transition. If you drag back to the left so that the right object overlaps the left object, you get a crossfade.

I suggest that you look at my Tutorials on Getting Started - Parts 2 and 3, and Basic Editing, Parts 1 and 2.

@mohamadreza-roshan

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

I have hidden your post because it has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. Please start a new thread with your question, in the appropriate area of the forum and including the name of the Magix product which you are asking about.

Thank you.

@Marc-Joiner, @browj2

Hi

John - well spotted.

Marc - your track height is not big enough to see the transition icon - see clip below
