Timelapse Import out of sequence

I have one of these trail cameras. I've set it up to do timelapse i.e. one photo each minute. I've changed the settings in Magix Video Pro X for photos to one frame and then import 999 images. Magix Video Pro X recognises the import as a timelapse and offers to create a video, which it does. However, due to some reason the video is out of sequence. As the following photo shows of two separate imports. The first is where the timelapse began around 11am during the day. However Magix has appended in front of the beginning some of the last images. The same with the second import. It was supposed to start where the first import left off, but at random it's put a number of images in between. Pretty annoying that it can't import and sequence the images in the order they were taken. i.e. the files have sequencial names starting from DSCF0001.JPG to DSCF0999.JPG, plus the creation timestamp is one minute apart in sequence. Has anyone seen this and/or is there any way to stop this behaviour? I'm running the latest version X14 Version 20.0.1.159 (UPD3).. Rgds, Simmi

Hi Simmi

I cannot replicate this with VPX 14 v20.0.1.159

Did you try importing without creating the video?

@simmiv Hi, I had a problem syncing my Gopro media to my Phone media because the date/timecode of the Gopro was off,

999 images at one an min = 16.65hrs, starting at 11am that would take you into the early hrs of the next morning, I'd have a look at the timecodes of those clips n see if you can work out why Magix is thinking it's doing the right thing, ?🤷‍♂️

for instance this is one of my phone clips, it has 3 timecodes, Media created, Date created & Date modified

Hi John,

Yes I've used the option to not create a video.. I've imported two lots of 0-999 images and in both instances it put images from 1-17 last and began on the first one as number 18.. I can of course grab the 1-17 lot at the back and move it to the front. I'll try to see if this is consistently the same for all imports..

Hi Simmi,

Simmi - as you are using images, the Date Modified and Media created/Date taken should be the same, however assuming you have not made any modifications to the images 1 - 17, the Date created may be out of order due to the copying method from camera to PC - files are not always copied in what we would consider the 'normal order' ie by name.

In the project folder pane of VPX are the images in filename order or date order?

Hi,

I've tried again. I have seven folders of timelapse with images from 1 - 999. Timelapse is one minute apart. As mentioned before I tried to do this without making a video, but after one more import in addition to the other two mentioned before I gave up. With three thousand images, Magix simply became unresponsive when zooming in or out of the timeline.

I then decided to create one project for each lot of 1,000 images. That was more manageble.. The first lot imported correctly in the right sequence (Same folder as mentioned before, but with the first 1-17 images put at the back) The second folder imported with images 1-19 at the back i.e. out of sequence. Then the other remaining ones imported correctly individually. Once Imported I exported each one into one video and ended up with 7 individual videos. I then put all seven into one project and exported again to get one video file for alll the images.

I can't see any time difference in the Windows file explorer for any of the images in all seven folders. They are all the same.. See snapshot of the first folder files below..

I can only assume this is either some fluke, or some timing issue when doing the import and sequencing. It's not consistent. Anyway, I've got the single video I originally wanted, so it's all good.

Thanks for your responses and tests..

I would agree it could be a sequencing issue - the timestamps are, as you say, all correct for the sequence.
