system crash Video pro x13

Hi

I have this problem on Video pro x13 fully up to date version just brought it and updated yesturday

Installed on two machines 1= windows 10 i7 nvidia 780TI

1= windows 11 pro i9 10900 cpu with a nvidia 980TI 32gb RAM

both showing same error below when editing video and crashes the program

error in module "mpeg2_x64.dll (load address 0x00007ffb569000000)to address 0x00007ffb5696c980 (exception 0x0000005" access_violation")

windows 11 fresh install no idea what to do

Hi Graham and welcome to the user to user forums.

This could be down to the end of support for the nvidia cards using Maxwell GPU architecture. The Kepler card should still be supported. Check with the nvidia driver page to make sure the 780Ti is running the latest game ready driver.

On the Win 11 pro i9 10900 Try plugging your monitor into the motherboards HDMI output and in the programs settings / Device settings select the Intel HD 630 GPU for the Import / Processing / Export settings.

Then in Windows Settings Go to Display / Graphics settings and turn on Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and below that Choose an app to set preference. Select Desktop app from the drop down selection within the box.

Open browse and go to Local disc C: / Program files / Magix / Video Pro X 13 and select the video_pro

_X.exe file.

Select Power saving GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 and close.

See if that stops the error module crash.

Another user has reported exactly the same error message here, although in MEP rather than VPX.

Do any of the suggestions there help?

Hi Graham. Sorry I should have typed

video_pro_X.exe

It should be the only .exe file in that directory.

when trying to export the video it fails and shows up error code:copy to export adatper

There are 2 issues with VPX 13 and the Nvidia GPU's

The GTX 780 does not support hardware acceleration for Importing, Processing or Exporting - these settings are in the Program settings, Device options tab - for any video format.

If this i7 computer does not have a processor with at least a HD 520 iGPU then the three settings should be set to CPU or Microsoft Warp if available - test which is better as it can vary.

The GTX 980 only supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2 VC1, VC8 and h.264 (AVC) for Importing only, and h.264 (AVC) for export only - h.265 (HEVC) is not supported at all.

The Windows 11 computer should be able to use the Intel UHD 630 integrated GPU - the latest drivers are version 30.0.101.1660. - for the Import, Processing. Export options, these will have to be experimented with to find the best combination depending on the video formats you are importing and wanting to export to.

With VPX 13 it should not be necessary to set the Windows Graphics scheduling as this is all done in program.
