I have had Xara/Magix for many years. However, when I attempt to buy a new domain the store is closed and no reason given. I want to use it so Xara can host my website. What to do ? When is chat available or is it just a bot?

Magix no longer sell any Xara products, so if your site is hosted with Magix-Online, then I would advise you to move your site and domain names to Xara.
Depending on the version of Web Designer you have, your hosting may already be with Xara then you should be able to login to your hosting account and purchase a new Domain name there.
Any issues with Xara hosting you should refer to Xara support.

It's rather complicated. I asked Xara and they said that current Xara hosting is with Magix, not them.

I have Xara On-line that was purchased through Magix. The renewal date is fast approaching and I don't want to lose access as I have a domain name linked to it. Normally, I receive a message about automatic extension 1 or 2 months before expiry. I have not received anything that I can find. Does this fall under Magix or Xara?

Are we referring to Xara Hosting? If so, that is a separate service at www.xara-online.com. You should log in to manage your account there. If you have questions about it, then it is still supported by Magix infoservice@magix.net
All software upgrades happen directly with Xara now. Happy to provide more information on them if needed.
I haven't asked Magix yet, but will do so today.
