Static Jumpy media pool and project playback

I just edited my first project combining a few MOV files from the Canon digital camera, joining with transitions and exporting as a new AVI movie.

Ever since I did that I now am having playback problems within the Magix Movie Edit Pro program. Any MOV or AVI file that is either an ongoing project or a completed file in the media pool will not play within the program window. I get jumpy video playback and a clicking static audio. These files work fine in every other program (e.g. Quicktim, Picasa, WMP) so the problem is MEP.

Is there a codec or playback problem? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling already.

I reset the program to original "defaulys" so I obviously had accidentally changed something but I don't know what. Any idea, in case this happens again?

All I can think of is that you had your output resolution set higher then your computer could handle. Get more ram and that may help in the future. You can set your display resolution --- File,Settings, Program settings, Video/Audio , Movie Display (set to "half-resolution).
